The Simmons 8843 extension rod measures approximately 4 5/16 inches long. The diameter of the rod is 7/16. This rod does have male threads on one end. This extension rod is designed to connect to from the pivot connector, and down to the metal coupler which connects to the long pump rod that goes down into the ground. The 8843 is made out of 304 grade stainless steel.
