The 8832A is the lead free 1 inch valve body for the Simmons hydrant models 800, and 4800. The small hole located in the side of the valve body is called the weep, or drain hole. This hole is designed to insure that all of the water drains from the hydrant after it has been shut off. The hex shaped side of the valve body will connect the hydrant to the main plumbing, and the round portion is where the hydrant pipe will thread into the valve body.
