The 8832 is the lead free 3/4 inch valve body used for the Simmons hydrant models 800, and 4800. The hexed side of the valve body connects the hydrant to the plumbing, and the rounded side is where the hydrant pipe will thread into the body. The valve body has a small hole near the middle. This is called the weep, or drain hole. It is designed to insure that all the water from the hydrant drains after it has been shut off, in order to prevent freezing. The valve body is also the part that the plunger seats into.
